Top 10 female DJs


People often think that electronic dance music is reserved for male DJs only, but they are terribly wrong. There is no chance you will see any big festival or club in the world that will not feature a couple of female DJs.

So here is a list of top 10 female DJs, “platform” to pick the best female DJs is based on DJ/mixing skills, popularity, awards and other music relative occupation such as record labels, radio shows, and music production.


As we all know, Germany has become the capital of techno in Europe, so it is not a big surprise that the greatest female DJ comes from Berlin. Anja is known for her performances on big clubs such as Pacha Ibiza, and the epic ADE music festival in the Netherlands. She is a DJ and a music producer.

2. tINI

Another one of the German female DJs and producers, tINI. She is known for her curly hair and powerful temperament. BPM, Ultra Music, and Exit festival are only a few of the many stages she has performed on.


A German DJ and a music producer, the founder of BPitch Control music label (since 1999)- a label with releases by artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Maceo Plex and Hot Since 82.


Nicole is a Lebanese-Nigerian event promoter, DJ, producer, record label founder, and a radio personality. She has performed on many famous festivals, such as BPM and Awakenings. In 2013 she founded a record label-Mood Records on which she has collaborated with artists such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, and Coyu.


Monika is known as Germany’s “first lady” of techno and as a close DJ friend of Carl Cox. She is a  DJ, producer, and a record label owner, with a career in electronic music spanning over more than 25 years. She has performed in some legendary festivals and events such as  Burning Man and ADE.


Magda is a Polish DJ and producer that made her first music steps in Detroit where she featured in the underground techno scene. Her music career started to rise when she collaborated with Richie Hawtin. One of her best performances is her live DJ set at a Hot-air Balloon in 2016 (2000 meters above Zürich).


Annie is an Irish DJ and television presenter. She is well known all over the world for her weekly BBC Radio 1 show since 2004. She has also performed at the biggest festivals in the world such as Creamfields and South West Four.


Two girls, Anastasia and Vivie-Ann, who moved from London to Spain, to be even closer to the music scene of Spain and Ibiza. They started their career when they met in Montreal in 2008. They have collaborated with some great names in the music industry, such as Pete Tong and Depeche Mode.


Cassy was born in England, lived in Austria and later ended up at Berlin in 2003 when was a career boost for her. She has made some great music mixes in a collaboration with Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, and Steve Bug.


Nina is a Russian DJ, music producer, and a singer. She has won Beatport’s DJ of the Year in 2014. Her fans have seen her on some of the biggest festivals in the world such as Awakenings, Coachella, Sonár, and Decibel. Her famous hits are Ghetto Kraviz, I’m Gonna Get You, Pain In The Ass, Tanya etc.

There are also a lot of other great female DJs such as Maya Jane Coles, Miss Kittin, Nastia, Ida Engberg, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Marika Rossa etc. )
