Disclosure, Oscar and the Wolf, Nina Kraviz, Netsky, Charlotte de Witte and Ronnie Flex – brand-new winner of the Popprijs – make their appearance at the fifth annual edition of the We Are Electric Weekender 2019. From Friday to Sunday, 5th – 7th July the verdant Landgoed Velder (the Velder estate) in Boxtel is host to a unique offering of live electronic performances on multiple stages. We Are Electric festivalgoers can all enjoy the programme until 3 am on Friday and Saturday, and until 1 am on Sunday. These extended times make the festival unique in the Netherlands. Moreover, the loveliest campsite in the Netherlands is open from Friday to Monday.
Disclosure (dj set) is the Saturday headliner. Grammy-Award nominees, British brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence scored several hits, including Latch with Sam Smith and the Flume remix of You and Me. Russian Nina Kraviz is without doubt one of the best and most popular female techno DJs of the moment, making her a very desireable booking for many international festivals. It’s impossible not to move to Netsky, with his heavy dancefloor beats and catchy melodies.
Oscar and the Wolf, the electropop band fronted by singer Max Colombie from Gent, is also on the main stage at We Are Electric. They have already won three Music Industry Awards with their debut album; the second was number 1 in the Belgian charts, as was the debut album. Charlotte de Witte, is from the same hometown as Oscar and the Wolf and she too has been in the business since 2010. Originally operating under the name Raving George, she has used her own name since 2015. Charlotte is known for her dark techno style and is one of the most popular techno acts of the moment.
Ronnie Flex & Deuxperience is also confirmed. Last weekend at Noorderslag, Ronnie Flex won the Popprijs 2018, the top prize in Dutch pop music. He comes to We Are Electric with a full live show, complete with band. The French duo The Blaze – known for their soulful house and UK bass sound, and iconic videos – make the perfect festival act.
In addition, We Are Electric has announced that Rampage – famous for the world’s largest drum & bass and dubstep event – will host a stage for three days at the multi-day festival. The first names on this stage will be Modestep and High Contrast. In addition, there will be over a hundred other acts on the We Are Electric Weekender poster. These names will be made known at the end of February.
Combination tickets will be on sale for all three days, with the option of overnight camping. Single day tickets will be on sale at a later date. Worldwide early-bird tickets go on sale on Saturday 26 January at 12 noon.
