Danes sem imel nastop v živo in vsi moji inštrumentalisti so bili z mano, kar naredi vse skupaj še bolj magično.

Všeč mi je ta stil in kombinacija vseh the glasbil.

To me je zelo presenetilo. Sedaj so prav oni moj največji trg.

Nastopajoči so odlični, prav tako dekoracije in obiskovalci.

Ljudlje me imajo radi zaradi tega kar počnem in ne zato, ker poskušam kopirati neko drugačno zvrst. To v pojem primeru ne pride v poštev. Zelo imam rad mojo sedajšnjo publiko.

//ENGLISH VERSION//
How did you like playing at Mysteryland this year?

Good! I was really looking forward to this festival cause I’m playing here for the first time ever. The crowd was cool and overall it just went very good. Today I played a liveshow and I had all my musicians with me. That made the experience even more amazing.

We loved the idea of the liveshow and the fact that you used the instruments made it even more original. Where did you get the inspiration from to use these sounds in your tracks?
When I started making music for the first time I used a saxophone. I kept using this because I liked the sound it made. Then one by one I started to add more instruments to my music like for example a harmonica and a violin. I like this kind of style and I think it’s cool to combine these things.

What would you say your target audience is different than those from other dj’s in your scene?
My music is in the middle, it’s not very strong like you can jump hard to it. It’s more like a vibe music, if you want to experience some good moments with your friends my tracks are perfect for that. I’m not the kind of artist who will put some strong bass in your face. I never play very hard, for me it is always about the chill vibe.

So, talking about vibe, what do you prefer: playing at a festival or playing in a club?
A festival of course, because you can reach a bigger audience. At a festival people are coming just to see you play at the stage and in a club that experience is just really different.

Do you notice a difference between the crowd in a Dutch festival like Mysteryland and a crowd in other countries/festivals?
Every country is different, but everywhere it is all about the music. As a DJ you have to understand the crowd and the cultural differences sometimes.

What was your favorite event to play at? Is there one particular event you liked the most?
Eh, well. I actually do not think so. But I can name a top 3. Tomorrowland is definitely one of the best events I have played at. I recently played there for the first time and it was like a dream for me. My first tour in the US is also in my top 3, mainly because I didn’t expect that the Americans were so much into my (sax) music. I was very surprised to see that. Nowadays they are actually one of my biggest markets. On number 3 I would have to list Italy, I really love to play there because the crowd there loves to party and they always stay till the end.

What was the best event you ever attended as a visitor?
I don’t go to that much events as an attendee, but I have to say I really loved walking around at the Tomorrowland festival. It was amazing there and it is really the best festival in the world. The artists there are amazing, so is the decor and the crowd.

Who inspired you to produce your own music?
When I started it was Avicii, I love this guy. I sometimes played warm-up sets before he had to get up the stage back in the days.

How did you end up in the music industry?
I used to be very passionate about doing stuff, when I was young I was really into performing magic tricks. Then later I found out about music and I was like “Oh, this is what I want to do in the future”. I first started DJ’ing but I felt like I wanted to do more than that. I went to London and went to a producer school and when I came back I started making tracks. I never contacted any labels back in the days, I just put my songs on Youtube and suddenly those got a lot of views. I still do not know why, people just started messaging me saying my tracks were amazing and the label wanted to sign a song. I basically didn’t do anything. Back in the days platforms like Youtube and Soundcloud were big and all I had to do was to get my stuff out there.

What keeps you motivated to keep producing?
The fact that I want to create another Jubel (his biggest hit), haha. That is the track that kept me the most motivated. I want to be able to spread my music around a wider audience. I want to hear that people enjoy what I make.

At the moment you are making deephouse tracks. Nowadays we see a lot of people experimenting with new genres or different styles in their new track. Is this something we can expect form you?
No. I mean, I tried producing something else than deephouse once but it does not make any sense to me. People like me because of what I do, not because I’m trying to copy another genre. There is no point for me in doing that. I like my current audience.

Here is Klingande’s latest single and video which came out last week called ‘Jumped Up’ which you can see bellow.
