A number of artists such as Alessandro Cortini, Abdul Mogard and Caterina Barbieri have canceled their performances at Belgrade’s Resonate Festival.
The reason is last year’s payment. Dutch musician Thomas Ankersmit published a post saying that he and his collaborator, Phill Niblock, never got paid for their performance last year.
“The organization is a tremendous mess.”
“The habit of not paying participants has persisted for years. The team’s promises cannot be trusted.”
Thomas also linked his post to a Facebook group called ”Still Unpaid At Resonate Festival”. After that, a number of local and international artists posted their complaints about payment issues. And the result is here: some of the greatest artists of the line-up did not participate in this year’s festival that took place from 18th to 21st of April!
